Those wedding wagons that are so popular these days can definitely add a cute and clever dimension to your nuptials.

But do you know how to decorate a red wagon for a wedding in such a way that it looks as good in the photos as in your memories?

A few simple tricks will keep your photos and your memories coordinated perfectly.

— Think color.

Of course, you will decorate your wedding wagon to coordinate with the colors and theme of your wedding. Just remember to keep your wedding colors a bit strong if you want the wagon to come across clearly in your photos. Light and neutral colors tend to wash out in photos.

If you want the wedding wagon to be a focus in your photographs, then use all over strong color in the fabrics you choose for it.

If you want your wagon to blend in a bit more, then aim for softer or lighter fabrics on the wagon, and use colorful ribbons, bows, etc.

Of course, if you choose to leave your red wedding wagon uncovered, it will already be eye-popping in your photos.

— Watch your accessories.

A gigantic bow on your wedding wagon’s handle may look great going down the aisle, but may be overpowering in photographs. It makes sense to accessorize your wagon the way you envision for your wedding, then take digital photos and preview them. Make any adjustments needed.

You may even choose to outfit your wedding wagon with two decor arrangements. One for wedding usage and one for the photographs. Perhaps changing one or two accessories for the photos will do the trick.

If you are using your red wedding wagon for a prop during the wedding photography sessions, you’ll want to make sure it doesn’t overpower your human subjects. Your wedding wagon should be a natural part of the overall photo, for example, placing a flower girl inside it and a ring bearer leaning against it from the outside. As opposed to the wagon being set up with flowers and your wedding party surrounding it and staring at it.

After all, whose day is this, anyway? It’s definitely NOT the wagon’s special day!

— Notice patterns.

Perhaps you’ve found a lovely floral fabric for your wedding wagon. A coordinating checked fabric will make a very cute edging.

Are your bridesmaids wearing floral fabrics?

Are the groomsmen wearing checked cumber bunds?

Make sure you include the fabrics and accessories you’ve chosen for the wagon in with the rest of the wedding party fabrics. Ideally, accessorize the wagon in snippets of fabric from the wedding party.

Then you can rest assured your principal characters are coordinated and your photos will reflect that.

So how do you decorate a red wagon for a wedding and ensure it looks as great in your photos as it does in person? Simply match accessories and patterns for your wagon with your wedding party and make sure you have enough color on your wagon to come through clearly on your pictures.

And, of course, remember to smile!
