It doesn't take a glamorous city backdrop, size zero waist, or designer duds to make a superstar. Sometimes all you need is a little imagination, a wicked sense of humor, and the willingness to let loose for a few hours. A boom box here and a tricycle there never really hurts either! Why be bored with bulky equipment, camera settings, and practiced poses when there's fun to be had? My goal is to capture colorful characters in even more colorful environments. You might say I'm a little color obsessed but, really, who wants to live in a black and white world?

I aim for originality and spunk. It might mean decking you out in elaborate costumes and fantastical make-up or it could be as simple as catching a sly, sideways smile when you least expect it. Life is full of moments to be collected on memory cards, if you ask me. Instant Fame Photography is all about making you the star you've always known yourself to be. And this blog is where you'll first shine. Below you'll find some of my best images from my brightest small town stars. Fame needs fans so don't forget to add your two cents!

Good morning to all my tie dye crunksters, today is your lucky day! I'm turning the music up and splashing the blog with all your favorite colors! I've been with the traveling circus this month-- so I have more than enough to pile on ya. I'll start with a few commercial images of Kate Welch's design that I photographed in Chicago at the beginning of the month. We set up for six designs total, so I'll have another serving coming your way!

April 24, 2009     Seniors

A couple of weeks ago I did a senior session for the wonderful Bethany Keener. She brought two of her best pals (Morgan Goldman & Jenna Harmon) along for the ride. They rocked my world! We climbed a two mile grass hill, discovered an unlocked Mercedes Benz with perfect red leather interior, choked down some zaxbys, and then skipped around downtown at a construction site! My job beats the heck outta yours, doesn't it? I'm teasing you.... well, kinda sorta! Come back and take a look at Bethany's singles tomorrow- she did her thannnng!

Lincoln Country prom is next Saturday (April 25th) and I'll be photographing a group of 18 fabulous students. All of which have been best friends since they met in Kindergarten. They decided to all join together this year instead of the traditional dating style. How awesome is that? I'm very excited to approach this opportunity with a modern fresh style. I plan to have some fashion forward fun with the group and capture tons of candid and detailed shots to properly document the occasion from all perspectives. Don't worry... I'll make sure to get the traditional images that everyone is accustomed to seeing, but I'll cross my fingers with high hopes that a few of my new school ideas will sink in so we can kick that five minute stand on the X idea to the curb! :) The photos below are of Hannah Mongrue- she's one of the girls from the prom group I mentioned. She is a fairly new subject, you can check out the sneak peeks from her last session HERE. We met up again for a quick quirky shoot in which she wore the dress from her previous 2008 prom.

S T U N N I N G to say the very least... my camera is spoiled rotten!

I hardly ever ask for the serious face... but *wow* Hannah looks gorgeous no matter what face she makes!
