It doesn't take a glamorous city backdrop, size zero waist, or designer duds to make a superstar. Sometimes all you need is a little imagination, a wicked sense of humor, and the willingness to let loose for a few hours. A boom box here and a tricycle there never really hurts either! Why be bored with bulky equipment, camera settings, and practiced poses when there's fun to be had? My goal is to capture colorful characters in even more colorful environments. You might say I'm a little color obsessed but, really, who wants to live in a black and white world?

I aim for originality and spunk. It might mean decking you out in elaborate costumes and fantastical make-up or it could be as simple as catching a sly, sideways smile when you least expect it. Life is full of moments to be collected on memory cards, if you ask me. Instant Fame Photography is all about making you the star you've always known yourself to be. And this blog is where you'll first shine. Below you'll find some of my best images from my brightest small town stars. Fame needs fans so don't forget to add your two cents!

December 2, 2008     Children

Introducing Jack & Grady... two of the cutest kids on the planet! I've been photographing the Roper kids for a few years now and it's amazing to watch them grow. I never thought I'd be the adult going bananas over how fast kids grow, but yep... that's definitely the case! The first time I photographed Grady he was a few months old wrapped in soft blankets, snuggly and calm. Jack on the other hand had me hanging upside down from trees and running full speed through a golf course snapping blurry pictures. But let me tell you, times have changed... five year old Jack is my big man now, he has tons of patience and follows directions perfectly. He must be the teachers pet at school... If I was a teacher, I'd definitely ask Jack to do everything! :) Grady is almost two, he's the little wiggle worm with the brightest baby blues around! Here are a few sneak peeks from the session... at the bottom of the both I've added two flashback photos to show you just how much they've grown! :)

Grady with his cute little miniature lollipop & dazzling eyes:

i think the tickle monster had jack acting all shy-- his little giggle makes my heart melt!

such handsome brothers... looking more and more alike every time I see 'em!

playing peek-a-boo with pretty leaves! :)

Here are two of my favorite photos from my first session with the Roper boys on July 18th, 2006.
The Roper Family used the photo of Grady (in the box) for his Birth Announcement which doubled as the 'We've Moved' card!

Jack loved the lollipop so I knew right away that I'd bring one for him this time around! Now Grady will have a photo to match!

December 1, 2008     Family

Thanks to the world wide web *giggles* (more like myspace & facebook) I am able to keep up with my hometown friends that live an hour away, sad... isn't it? i'm such a computer nerd! :) Anyways, I cheered with Erica back in 2002 but since then we've only seen each other a few times. When she asked me to photograph her family for Christmas, I was delighted to spend the day away from the city. So last week I took a trip to good ole' Wilkes County to photograph the Guin Family in their neck of the woods! These photos make me want to move to the country, and I just might! :)

Check out Travis's new golf cart-- he was pretty stoked when I mentioned I'd like to use it for the photos!
They ride up and down the dirt roads to relax and enjoy each others company, they're such sweethearts! :)

Their cute little family-- Erica, Travis, Zoey (left) & Buddy (right).

so perfect for each other!

absolutely breathtaking! I'm extremely proud of these last images! I cannot wait to get one on a 20X24 canvas! :)
